Paris Fashion Week doesn't just see big names like Chanel, Dior and Balenciaga flit their fashions down the catwalk—it's also where beauty trends go from runway to real life.
This week, we take a look at the standout shows so far.
CROWNING GLORY AT BALENCIAGA
If The Chronicles of Narnia met Game of Thrones, this hairstyle would undoubtedly be the result. The man behind the look, Redken's creative consultant, Guido Palau, says, "The hair at Balenciaga is very natural, yet it's smooth, not frizzy." He adds, "The style also complemented the metal hairpieces that Nicolas Ghesquière [creative director at Balenciaga] provided. They are really exquisite twisted gold pieces."
CRYSTAL COVERED AT DIOR
Models marched down the catwalk wearing strong and utilitarian-like ponytails created by Palau at Dior. Make-up Director Pat McGrath painted bold glitter brights onto eyes, reminiscent of war paint.
Described by McGrath as "techno butterfly", McGrath used dozens of individual Swarovski crystals on each model for a bespoke look. Dior also joined the likes of Versus at Milan Fashion Week, and Monique Lhuillier at New York Fashion Week, which played up the now ubiquitous blue eyeshadow trend.
WATER BABIES AT NINA RICCI
The wet look saw another season, with Palau taking the perennially chic French twist and saturating it with gel for Nina Ricci.
"I pulled out a few pieces towards the nape of the neck to give the style a little character, ensuring it wasn't completely perfect; she's still a real woman," said Palau of the feminine-yet-modern 'do.
