(John Galliano in 2010, Oscar de la Renta takes his bow at his Pre-Fall 2013 show in 2012) John Galliano appears to be headed for a comeback, following an invitation to work with fellow designer, Oscar de la Renta.
The British designer will work in an internship position at de la Renta's studio in the lead-up to his New York Fashion Week show next month.
It is the first industry appointment for Galliano, who was fired from his position as creative director at Christian Dior in 2011, following an alcohol-fuelled anti-semitic tirade in a Paris café.
While Galliano has not remained out of the limelight entirely – he designed Kate Moss' bridal gown and attended her wedding in 2011 - it is thought that de la Renta's job offer could be the first stepping stone into a full-time return to the design industry.
With no firm plans in place just yet, fashion fans will undoubtedly be on the lookout for hints of Galliano's design mastery when de la Renta's Fall 2013 collection hits the stage in February.
