Jessica Gomes' Film Debut The model is making her way onto the big screen. Jessica Gomes (above) made her first appearance in a feature film, with a role inTransformers: Age of Extinction. The David Jones ambassador follows in the footsteps of fellow model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, who made her big-screen debut in 2011's Transformers: Dark of the Moon. In the sequel, Gomes plays the spokesperson for the fictional Kinetic Industries. "It's basically me being this sexy yet ethereal woman who gets to say things like, 'This is [Transformer] Bumblebee,'" the 28-year-old laughed in an interview with InStyle. Directed by Michael Bay (his fourth Transformers blockbuster), the film also stars Mark Wahlberg and newcomer Nicola Peltz. "Just being around Michael was amazing," says Gomes. "And I got to shoot scenes with Stanley Tucci, which was great." She auditioned for Bay and filmed in Detroit a year ago, then shot extra scenes in her home town LA late last month. "Acting is such a fun exercise and I think it's just another creative outlet for me," Gomes says. The Sydney-born talent recently appeared in #IAM Episode 2, a campaign for the Hollywood-based Coalition of Asian Pacifics in Entertainment. "I've spoken to a lot of models who've made the transition [into film] who've said they had to quit full-on modelling to focus on acting," Gomes says. "For me, I want to do things that are fun, like action films. I'm not putting limitations on myself…It's been a great experience. We'll see where it goes." —Chris Urankar Don't Miss Front Row Creche No need for a babysitter if you're an A-lister. Madewell Arrives At Net-A-Porter. Best Beauty Looks Direct from the runway.
